The Lightning Baseball team took on Park yesterday in their last opportunity to make it to the section championship. The boys had suffered a loss against Burnsville last week, which put them lower in the tournament and really tested their abilities. However, their strength and teamwork shined through when they won a hard fought battle, finishing the game with a score of 3-2. Cullen Buck, Brady Miller, Nic Nelson and Tommy Springer all contributed great hits throughout the game. Dylan Brend started off the pitching for the Lightning and had some solid strike outs to push the boys forward. Riley Johnson came in from 1st base to pitch the last inning, and finished the boys off strong. This Wednesday they will face Burnsville again to fight for the title of Section Champion. This tournament is double elimination, so if the Lightning win in their game at 4, they will need to prove their outstanding skill and play again undefeated Burnsville to get a second win that will then bring them to state. Come out and support our boys in their game tomorrow at 4 in Dundas, and be ready to stay for a second game at 7.
