Here at Eastview, a couple things have been out of the ordinary.  The first is there is as much green around school as at Lambeau Field.  Physical Education Teacher, Trevor Monroe explains why, “We are wearing green today in honor of Michael Sheridan.”

“Michael had brain surgery to remove a tumor on his brain,” says Athletic Director Matt Percival which explains the absence of Michael Sheridan from the halls of Eastview.

Word of Michael’s medical issues spread throughout the school and even further.  People have come from all over to show their support

for him.  “He has had friends from the class of 2012 fly back from Kansas, drive in from Duluth, Lacrosse, Winona, Mankato,” says his mother Mrs. Sheridan.  Members of the University of Minnesota football team visited him.  Joey King and Darren Haugh current U of M basketball players and EVHS Alumni stopped by to visit.  Even Jordy Nelson from the Green Bay Packers called to wish him well.

“He certainly bleeds Packer green, but he also bleeds Eastview Blue, Black, and White,” Mr. Percival said about the unofficial “Mayor of Eastview”. In fact, Michael loves Eastview so much he said he wanted two things while in the hospital, “he said he wanted to go home and the second thing was he said ‘I want to get back to work’” said his father Kevin Sheridan.

Unfortunately, Michael will undergo another surgery today to remove the rest of the tumor they were not able to get last time.  Once again, Eastview is wearing green today in the home of blue, black, and white and the land of the purple.  “We are not Packer fans, we are Michael Sheridan fans,” Trevor Monroe proudly stated.  Good Luck Michael!
